The ingredients needed to cook Apple chutney:

  1. Use 1.5 kg of apples- peeled and chopped.

  3. Take 650 g of raisins.
  4. Take 3 cm of piece of fresh ginger, grated.
  5. Provide 2 teaspoons of mustard seeds.
  6. Prepare 700 ml of apple cider vinegar.

  8. You need 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika (optional).
  9. Use 2 of brown onions - diced.
  10. Use of Sterilised jars for storage.

  1. Prepare all ingredients and place in a large,heavy-bottomed pan or maslin pan..
  2. Bring to the boil and simmer for approx.45-50mins. Stir frequently to ensure mixture does not catch on the bottom of the pan..
  3. The chutney is ready when the apples have softened and the chutney is dark and liquid has reduced.
  4. Cool slightly and then fill sterilised jars - be careful the chutney will still be hot! Seal and cool..
