- Provide 2 cups of masoor dal (black).
- Prepare 2 of onions finely chopped.
- You need 4 of tomatoes finely chopped.

- Soak the dal for atleast half an hour..
- Coarsely grind ginger garlic and green chillies.
- Heat oil in a cooker add ginger garlic paste and stir cook till it is pinkish and leaves the aroma..
- Now add onion and bay leaves and saute nicely till it is pinkish and transparent..
- Now add all the dry masalas mix well and add tomatoes and cook on low flame..
- When tomatoes are well cooked add dal and cook for few mins..
- Now add water accordingly and give 3 -4 whistles..
- Open the lid and adjust the consistency of dal if necessary add some water mix it well and let it cook on low flame for 7-8 mins..
- Yummiiilious dal is ready to serve with rice roti or puri.
