The ingredients needed to prepare Jalapeno prawns:

  1. Provide 500 g of tiger prawns, butterflied (about 15 prawns).
  2. Provide 2 of garlic cloves, chopped.
  3. Prepare 1/2 tsp of green ginger garlic paste.
  4. Provide 1/4 tsp of turmeric.
  5. Provide 1/4 tsp of Kashmiri chilli.
  6. Use to taste of Salt and pepper.
  7. You need 1/2 tsp of lemongrass powder.
  8. Prepare 2 tbsp of mayo.
  9. Provide 8 tbsp of JoJo's Jalapeno sauce or any brand you can find.
  10. Prepare of Lemon zest from one lemon.
  11. Prepare 2 tbsp of Garlic parsley butter.

Instructions to make Jalapeno prawns:

  1. Devein and butterfly prawns. Leave head on if you prefer. Rinse prawns and drain in a colander.
  2. Mix the chopped garlic cloves, green ginger garlic paste, turmeric, Kashmiri chilli, salt, pepper, lemongrass powder, mayo, jalapeno sauce and lemon zest together till combined. Rub the marinade onto the prawns.
  3. Marinate for minimum 15 min to overnight. If you marinating for less than 15 minutes then add a squeeze of lemon juice to the marinade for extra flavour. I don't add lemon juice when I marinate seafood overnight as I find that it breaks down the prawns.
  4. Start a braai or use a gas stove. The heat should be medium heat.
  5. Put prawns face down till you see shell starting to change colour, flip over onto shell. Leave till shell turns a pink reddish colour.
  6. Baste the prawns with the leftover marinade and garlic parsley butter.
  7. Take prawns off the braai/gas stove and squeeze lemon juice over. Enjoy!.
