The ingredients needed to cook Drumstick mustard gravy:
- Get 3-4 of drumsticks.
- Provide 2 of potatoes.
- You need 1/2 of onion.
- Use 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds.
- You need 1 teaspoon of panch phodan.
- Provide 2 tablespoon of mustard seeds.
- Provide 3 of dried red chillies.
- You need 6-7 cloves of garlic.
- Prepare 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder.
- Take To taste of salt.
- Use As needed of Mustard oil.
Instructions to make Drumstick mustard gravy:
- Clean the drumsticks and peel them off. Cut them into medium sized sticks.
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into thick round pieces.
- For masala : soak the cumin seeds, mustard seeds, garlic and 2 dry chillies for 5 mins. Strain it and make a paste and keep aside.
- Heat a pan and add some mustard oil into it. Add 1/2 teaspoon of panch phodan and once they splutter add the potatoes, drumsticks, salt and turmeric and saute it a bit.
- Add the masala prepared in step 3 and mix it well. Add half cup of water and bring it to boil. Cover with a lid and let it cook in low sim for 15 mins.
- Remove the cooked dish and keep aside. Add some oil into the pan and add rest of the panch phodan and 1 dry red chilli. Add the chopped onions and saute till golden brown.
- Add the cooked potato and drumstick mix into this and mix it well. Add some water based on how much gravy you need. Bring it to boil and remove.
- Your dish is ready to be served hot with rice.
