- Take one kadhai and keep it on the flame add 2 tablespoon oil let the oil warmed now add cumin and finely chopped onion roast till onion turns pink now add green chilli pieces curry leaves roast little more now add asafoetida and grated ginger mix altogether and add tomatoes roast until tomatoes turn tender now add red chilli, turmeric powder and dry coriander and cumin powder mix well, now add soaked mung dal add salt and 1 glass of water cover the pan let it cooked for about 15 minutes..
